HOTEL SUPREME THROUGHOUT THE YEARS

From a taxi-driver-turned-hotelier’s ambition to have a hotel of his own, Hotel Supreme was born.

1990 – A year after the inauguration and operation of the Phase I Building, a devastating earthquake struck Northern Luzon and isolated the entire City of Baguio. The tourism businesses in Baguio City were severely damaged by such a catastrophe. Fortunately, the Phase I Building was spared from any major damages and was able to recover from the disaster. Hotel Supreme resumed operations and made it the only operational 3-star hotel during that time.

1995 – After five years from operating the Phase I Building, Hotel Supreme opened the doors of its Phase II Building on April 2nd. The new facility had an additional of thirty-six (36) rooms, a meeting room called “Sapphire Executive Room”, and the multi-purpose room called “Margarita Hall” that was designed to accommodate seminars, conventions, weddings, and other big group gatherings with 200 to 300 guests.

1999The overall outcome of the business for the next few years was very promising and on May 30th, an additional three (3) medium-sized function rooms were built. This is now called the Hotel Supreme Phase III Building. The Ruby Room, Emerald Room, and Topaz Room were designed for executive meetings and other small group gatherings.

2003 – In the middle of 2003, Hotel Supreme ventured into their largest expansion endeavor– the Hotel Supreme Convention Plaza began construction. It became the biggest hotel building landmark in that time. It was located right across the Phase I Building and along the busy business district leading to La Trinidad Valley. It was surrounded by neighboring schools, universities, hospitals, churches, tourist spots and different business establishments.

The Convention Plaza is a 9-storey first class hotel building with 13,000 square meters floor area and has two (2) scenic elevators that overlook the mountains and foothills of Baguio. It is designed with first class amenities and offers 120 furnished guestrooms and suites equipped with air condition units and bath tubs. Four (4) additional function rooms named Diamond Grand Ballroom, Opal Function Room, Garnet Room, and Jasper Room were built to cater guests ranging from 50 to 1,200 persons and outfitted with complete audio and visual equipment.

2024 (Present) – Today, Hotel Supreme has grown and expanded into a multi-building hotel facility offering one hundred eighty-five (185) guests rooms and suites, three (3) major multi-purpose function halls and seven (7) meeting rooms. The hotel also offers four (4) food outlets namely: The Lotus House, a Chinese restaurant; Ivy’s Grill and Restaurant, serving Filipino and International dishes; Gloria Jeans Coffees, an international coffee chain brand; and Future Diner, serving American diner food and drinks. The hotel has spacious parking areas that can accommodate 200 vehicles.

ESTABLISHMENT HISTORY AND GOAL

Behind every success of today is yesterday’s humbleness that is a motto that a certain young Peter Ng can be described with as he pursued a taxi cab business from the savings he had to help take care of his siblings, ventured towards managing three hotels in a span of eight years with different building owners, and aspired to manage a hotel building of his own with a combination of untiring efforts, passion for business and, later on, an addition of endless support and shared dedication from his wife named Evelyn or “Ivy” as her friends call her came from a simple farming family in La Trinidad, Benguet.

And so, as the establishment-turned-family business flourishes to this day, so does their prowess in their managerial and culinary skills (respectively) into the hotel where they can guarantee a warm and welcoming atmosphere perfectly paired with the right amount of freshly prepared delicacies served to continue Ivy’s language of love to share and be enjoyed by everyone and anyone.
